Honey was relinquished to an Ohio shelter because her owner was going into a nursing home. This poor girl has apparently had a pretty rough life. The shelter contacted OBHR when she was placed on their "urgent" list. Honey weighs just 34 lbs and was covered with fleas when first picked up by our volunteer. She has three masses on her legs and one on her neck which the vet thinks are sebaceous cysts. The one on her elbow appears to have been there a while as it has burst and then covered over again more than once. Honey also has two firm masses on her belly as well. She is scheduled for surgery on September 25 and the masses will be biopsied at that time so that we know what we are dealing with. Despite all of her setbacks Honey is the sweetest girl who loves attention. Her little tail just wags when she sees someone coming to get her from her kennel at the vet. Honey is thought to be about 8 years old based on the dental check OBHR's vet performed. She is up to date on vaccines, Heartworm and Flea prevention. Honey would love to have a nice home where someone will treat her like the beautiful little soul that she is. Please consider opening your home to Honey and I am sure you will not be disappointed. If you would like to help Honey but can't adopt at this time, OBHR is accepting donations to help with Honey's surgery and post-op care. Donations can be made via Paypal by clicking on the Donation button on the Ohio Basset Hound Rescue website or by mailing a check to Ohio Basset Hound Rescue, P.O. Box 333, Newtonsville, Ohio, 45158.
All OBHR dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on shots, checked for heart worm and on heart guard and flea preventative. If interested in one of our dogs please fill out an application at www.ohiobassetrescue.com today.
